This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use SoundBreak, including when you use SoundBreak through ChatGPT, Discord, Poe, or other third-party apps that connect to our services.
1) Information we collect
We collect information to operate, improve, and secure SoundBreak:
- Account and Profile Information: Name, email, password, and optional profile details.
- Distribution Information: Legal name and attribution details needed to release music to DSPs.
- Payment & Payout Information: Stripe Connect account information to process royalty payouts.
- Usage Data: Interactions with the platform, generated session data, device information, IP address.
- Analytics: We use tools such as Google Analytics and may use additional analytics tools to improve performance and understand usage patterns.
- ChatGPT, Discord, and other app usage (when applicable): See Section 4 below.
2) How we use your information
- To operate and provide SoundBreak’s features
- To process royalty distribution and payouts
- To personalize your experience
- To monitor and improve platform performance and security
- To communicate with you about updates, support, and account notices
- To provide SoundBreak features inside ChatGPT, Discord, and similar apps, including song generation, status updates, and account linking
3) How we share information
We share information only when necessary to operate the service:
- Stripe: To process identity verification and payouts.
- Distribution & Royalty Partners (e.g., Revelator): To deliver your music and track royalty earnings.
- AI Music Generation Partners: To generate audio and related creative outputs. This may include prompts, lyrics, style descriptions, reference audio, and generation settings you submit. These partners process that information to create the requested output and to operate, secure, and enforce safety policies on their services.
- Analytics & Security Providers: To help us maintain quality, stability, and performance.
- App Platforms (e.g., OpenAI / ChatGPT, Discord, Poe): Only as needed for the app connection you initiate. We do not receive your ChatGPT, Discord, or Poe password.
- We do not sell your personal information.
4) ChatGPT, Discord, and other third-party apps
If you use SoundBreak through ChatGPT, Discord, Poe, or a similar app platform, we may process the following information to provide that experience:
- App identity: A one-way hashed identifier derived from the platform’s user id (for Discord, your Discord user id). We use that hash to recognize you across sessions, enforce complimentary limits, and attach songs if you later connect a SoundBreak account. We do not receive your ChatGPT, Discord, or Poe password, and we do not store your Discord password or full Discord account credentials.
- Prompts and creative inputs: Song prompts, lyrics, artist/cowriter selections, and related generation settings you send through the app. If you use Discord’s “Write a song about this” action, we receive the selected message text only as the song idea you asked us to write from.
- Generation and song metadata: Generation status, titles, genres, listen/embed links, share-card images, and similar metadata needed to show progress and let you play finished previews.
- Account linking (optional): If you choose to create or sign into a SoundBreak account from ChatGPT, Discord, Poe, or a similar app, we may link your app identity to that account and move complimentary guest projects/songs into it.
On Discord, commands you run in a server (such as /write) may be visible to other people in that server because Discord displays them there. SoundBreak does not scrape your Discord servers or reconstruct your Discord chat history. We only process the command, button, and message-action inputs sent to SoundBreak for the feature you used.
We use this information to:
- Provide AI co-writing, preview playback, and related app features
- Enforce complimentary generation limits for anonymous app users
- Link app usage to a SoundBreak account when you request it
- Operate, secure, and improve the ChatGPT, Discord, and other app experiences
SoundBreak does not use Discord message content, ChatGPT conversation history, or other app-platform content obtained through these connections to train machine-learning or music-generation models.
Guest or app-linked generation data is retained as needed to operate the service, enforce limits, support account linking, and respond to support or legal requests. You can request access, correction, or deletion as described in Section 6.
5) Social & DSP distribution
If you choose to distribute music through SoundBreak, your name and co-writer attribution may be included in metadata sent to music distributors and streaming platforms.
6) Your rights
- Request a copy of your data
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Request that we stop certain processing
- Sign in to SoundBreak to manage your account, tracks, and connected preferences where available

7) Data storage & security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to continuously improve the safety of your data.
8) Children’s data
SoundBreak is not intended for children under 13 (or the age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect children’s data.
9) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our features evolve. If changes are significant, we will notify you in-app or by email.
